GR12 - Forgiveness

An epilogue to the "Adventures of Gillian and Rebecca”. It's supposed to take place the following day, as they planned.

Gillian wanted to come back to the lake. Rebecca was only too happy to oblige, hoping to be forgiven for the bad joke she made to her the previous day.

- Why are you sad ? Asked Gillian
- Well I ... I was thinking about what we've done yesterday
- You mean, when I rescued you ?
- Yes, when you rescued me.
- So, why the long face ?
- I feel ashamed of myself. It was very irresponsible. You could have hurt yourself trying to rescue me.
- I've been thinking about that rescue too.
- You have ? I would understand if you were mad at me.
- In fact, it's rather the contrary.
- How so ?
- I realized that the joke would have worked quite the same if I had had limbs. Of course, it would have been far easier, and I wouldn't have been as desperate as I was at the time, but it wouldn't have been so different.
- It would have been far less risky. I made the joke as if you were perfectly abled. I should have been more thoughtful.
- That's exactly what I mean !
- What ? That I should have been more thoughtful ?
- Well, yes ... and no. You weren't thinking, and you acted as you would have with an ordinary person. It means it's how you truly see me. In my condition, that's very important, and very comforting.
- Oh. I understand. It's very kind of you to see things that way, but that doesn't excuse what I've done.
- You blame yourself too hard. Since you weren't unconscious, I was in no real danger.
- Well ... I suppose you weren't. However, the way you come to my rescue is quite an accomplishment !
- That's the other reason I'm happy you made that joke. You said I should be proud of what I've done. You're right, I am. And you can't begin to understand how good it feels. At the moment, it was hard, but retrospectively, it's the most exciting thing I've done in a very long time.
- You indeed seem happy. I'm glad my bad joke turn out to be a good experience for you. Will you forgive me ?
- Don't be silly. In fact, I thank you. Now would you help me toast your rescue ?
- Of course ! A toast to the best rescuer in the world !
- You mean "the best limbless rescuer" ?
- No. It's easy to make a rescue when you have all your limbs, so ...
- I'm not sure it's always easy even with limbs, but I understand what you mean. Thank you, Rebecca. Cheers !

Besides the software and other elements I used for the previous pictures (see [link]), this one includes "Picnic Basket" by blondie9999 and "Domino for V4" by Lourdes, both from Daz3D. Both have been slightly modified: shirt, glasses and bottle textures, some deformations on the picnic cloth and of course on the right side of her shorts
